Qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic required for work on farm machinery and plant in the picturesque East Gippsland region.

The core responsibilities of the Diesel Mechanic are to maintain, test and repair diesel motors and conduct mechanical repairs on the organisations various vehicles and equipment.
Daily responsibilities include:
• Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts.
• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts.
• Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, referring to service manuals as required.
• Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired.
• Testing and adjusting mechanical components to required standards.
• Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers.
We are seeking individuals with the following qualifications, experience and attributes:
• A relevant AQF Certificate III (including a minimum of 2 years’ experience) OR an AQF Certificate IV. 3 years recent and relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications above.
• Exposure to and/or experience in all responsibilities shown above.
• Current Driver’s License.
• Licenced to operate farm machinery preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements and legislation.
• Ability to work independently and contribute as a valued member of the team.
• Physically fit for the inherent requirements of the role.
